University of Dąbrowa Górnicza, founded in 1995, has several years of experience in educating students, conducting research and co-operating with state economy. Along with doing research, the University is teaching students according to the educational challenges of the modern world. The study programs are constantly being updated and broadened, aiming especially at interdisciplinarity and internationalization. The University is increasing the number of various ways and modes of studying and provides students with the possibility of organizing their own individual study plans. The University, being present on the local, state and international level, ensures the excellence in the quality of a diploma and provides wide and unrestricted access to knowledge.

With about 6 000 students and nearly 200 employees (academic staff 180), the University of Dąbrowa Górnicza offers bachelor, master, bachelor in engineering, doctorate and postgraduate programs.

The academic part of the university is organized into one main faculty of Management, IT and Social Studies. The faculty comprises of 10 departments. Several institutions are affiliated to the Academy including Centre of Foreign Languages, Centre for Security Research and Education of Uniformed Services, Centre for Modern Teaching Techniques.

Participation in the EU and other international and research projects in the framework of Lifelong Learning Programme, ERASMUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS has grown into multilateral joint agreements with universities in many European countries and Asia. University of Dąbrowa Górnicza has about 60 bilateral cooperation agreements with foreign universities, both from European and non-European countries.

It also prepares well-qualified specialists, who are able to fulfil the requirements of modern economy in the following branches: effective business management as well as human potential, informative engineering, e-business, inter-human communication, sociology and international relations. International relations are one of the most dynamic activities of the University, which is an active member of the international network of co-operating educational institutions in EU and other countries. This co-operation covers intense academic research, conferences and seminars, teacher and student exchange within international agreements, most of which are implemented with the EU support. Students are also engaged in student exchange in the range of European programmes such as: Tempus, Phare, Socrates Erasmus.

Our students use the most modern multimedia means, achieve different English and German certificates for example: Certificate of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry - LCCI, European Language Certificates- TELC, in the field of IT - the Certificate of Microsoft Certified Professional - MCP.

More than three hundred academic staff assure high level of teaching as well as scientific research. They are visible in effective methods of teaching, organising many scientific conferences, international co-operation, which raise the level of scientific works and Academy's development.

Trying to fulfil contemporary requirements of education, our Academy, not only targets on scientific and didactic activities but also, as the only institution of higher education in Poland, it has developed the educational package of Leaders' School, Career Office and the award of Leader of a Year, which open a career path for the young elite of our region.

  University of Dąbrowa Górnicza possesses a new modern campus. Students have at their disposal: audiovisual and computer laboratories, multimedia library and sports facilities.
